Birthday parties

Parties are bookable sessions families reserve, usually from your website. You set the packages, the add-ons and the times; families pay a deposit to hold a date, and the balance is invoiced before the party.

Setting up parties

Open Parties and press Setup. The tabs, in order, are Packages, Add-ons, Availability, Questions, Deposit and policies and Booking links.

Turn on Take party bookings on booking links under Booking links. Copy the Website button code and paste it on your website.

Holds, buffers and booking window

• A family who starts a booking has a 15-minute hold on the date. You can set it between 5 and 30 minutes. After a 10-minute grace period, unpaid holds are released.
• Parties are kept 30 minutes apart by default.
• Families can book between 7 and 120 days ahead.
• The deposit defaults to $100. Each package can set its own.

The balance

The deposit is part of the party total. The balance is a separate invoice, due on the party date. Automatic payment of the balance is off by default; turn it on under Parties setup if you want it.

Changing or cancelling a party

Open the party and use Change, Reschedule, Collect, or Cancel party. When you cancel, choose what happens to the money paid:

• Refund everything paid
• Keep everything paid
• Move everything paid to account credit
• A custom amount to keep, with the rest refunded or credited
