Two ways to organize

This is the single most important choice you will make, because it changes what your menu looks like and where you go to do almost everything. Pick it early and leave it alone.

Accounts mode — the default

Students are grouped under Accounts. An Account is the billing unit — typically a family or a parent. Your menu shows an Accounts section, and each account has its own tabs for Students, Finance, Contacts, and Messages. This is what you want if you teach children, because one parent pays for three kids and you want one bill, not three.

Students-only mode

The Accounts section is hidden entirely. Contacts, billing, and messages move onto each student's own page. Best for solo instructors or small studios where every student pays for themselves.

The same family in each mode. Nothing is missing on the right — contacts, billing, and messages have moved from the account onto each student, and the Accounts menu item is gone with it.
If your screen does not match this guide, check here first. The rest of this guide is written for Accounts mode, because it is the default. If you are in students-only mode, everything described as living on an account lives on the student instead, and there is no Accounts item in your menu. Nothing is missing — it has just moved.
