Settings, team and sign-in
Settings is a list of pages down the side. Every person sees My preferences, where they choose their own look. Owners and admins also see the business pages: Business information, Company appearance, Banking & payments, Processing fees, Sales tax, Price sources, Usage account and Subscription. AI settings sit with them, and they choose the AI model and level for each step.
What each role may do
- Owner and admin — everything, including voids, refunds, deletes, the books, the settings and the company appearance.
- Staff — the office. Quotes, invoices, payments, projects and customers.
- Crew — their own projects, their time, daily logs, photos and tasks. No money and no customer list.
- Viewer — reads what the office reads and changes nothing.
Cedar checks the role on every page, so a control that is hidden from a role is also blocked for it. If you give someone a role Cedar does not know yet, they are treated as staff until you change it.
Locking the screen
When you step away from a desk, press the lock button beside Sign out, or press Ctrl+Shift+L. The screen goes to a lock page. Enter your password to come back. Your open tabs and anything you had typed stay as they were. Ten wrong passwords in a row start a one-minute wait before the next try.
Sign-in and time-outs
A desktop sign-in lasts two hours. A phone sign-in lasts thirty days, so the crew is not typing a password on a job site every morning. If your account requires a second step at sign-in, you are asked for it after your password. If your account needs a card on file, Cedar shows a window to add one, and it stays on screen until a card is saved.
