Cedar

Each project now shows its contract amount from the accepted estimate, what you have invoiced, what has been collected, what is still owed, what you have spent, and your net so far. Two bars on the same scale show billing and spending side by side.

Everything billed or spent on the job is listed together, newest first, with its status and amount. Filter to estimates, invoices or expenses, and tap any row to open it. On a computer you can also take an item off the project; the estimate, invoice or expense itself is kept.

Start a new estimate, invoice or expense that is already on the project, or attach ones you already have for that customer. On the phone you can snap a receipt or start an estimate right from the project.

Write out the work to be done, what is included and what is not. Cedar shows who last changed it and when.

Upload site photos, plans, permits, PDFs, Word, Excel and CSV files, up to 8 MB each. On a computer, drag them onto the project; on the phone, take a photo straight into it.

A running list of what happened on the project: files uploaded, estimates created and accepted, invoices created, payments received and expenses recorded, with who did it.

Pick what Cedar should read: your scope of work, the project description, site photos and plan PDFs. Cedar lists the work items with quantities and typical material and labor costs for the project's city and ZIP. AI prices are marked as estimates until you change them.

Change any item, quantity or price, organize items into sections, set your markup, and choose whether prices appear. Print the document or download it as a PDF.

Create a draft estimate for the project's customer from a document, with one line per work item or separate labor and material lines, at your markup. The summary and what is not included go into the estimate's notes.

Split a scope by trade into packages for your subcontractors, one per trade or one grouped by trade. Prices are hidden when you print them, so they can go out for bids.

Cedar can order the work in a document into phases, with sequencing, inspections and lead times, as an internal project plan.

Saving a new expense could fail with an error before anything was recorded. New expenses and their receipts now save.

The expense form now has a Project field, and the expense list shows which project each expense belongs to.

Expenses loads its list as soon as the page opens. In a browser that had also been used for another Axion product, that request could reach the other product instead of Cedar. The other product did not recognize your sign-in and ended it, so your next click went to the sign-in page. It now always reaches Cedar.

These pages load their lists the same way, and the same request carried the same risk. So did saving a contact, recording a payment, editing a quote and opening a receipt. All of them now stay inside Cedar.

The tabs along the bottom of the phone app, and the links and buttons on its pages, could take you out of your Cedar session the same way. They now open the Cedar page they name.

Cedar opens every category in the left menu, so on a shorter screen the menu ran past the bottom of the window and took the signed-in name and the Sign out button with it. Only the list of pages scrolls now; who you are signed in as, and the way out, stay where you can reach them.

After you locked Cedar and typed your password to unlock it, the page Cedar sent you back to could also land outside your session. You now come back to the page you locked.
